Collection: Spray
The collection was born because of a spray paint mark left after colouring some materials.
The uniqueness, the unpredictability and the irreparable essence of every mark are aspects I wanted to incorporate in some of the pieces. I also wanted to explore further the uniqueness that comes with the irreparable actions and all the pieces were created with the first idea I had, regardless of afterthoughts or possible improvements, restraining myself from further changes.
No illustrations were done, no consideration for shapes, no options or redrawing were considered. Paraphrasing a great milliner, ‘the pursue of perfection is the end of creativity’ and I wanted this collection to be irreparable creativity.
The journey through these 10 piece collection starts with two completely white bridal pieces which represent the white canvas, “the beginning”. Continues with the addition of colours in the form of splashes of spray paint, printed silk scarfs and faceted crystals. The tulle and the sequins add extra texture to the pieces. A touch of humour is present with ‘Empty’ a Swarovski decorated piece with a spray paint nozzle and a with ‘Splotch’ which resembles a child’s representation of splashes of paint. The journey finishes with a maxi brim in dark pink crinoline as a full painted grand finale.
Spray is here, enjoy its unpredictable and irreparable uniqueness.
